Conference Table Size / Room / Capacity Chart
When making your purchase you can reference the following chart which includes common conference table sizes, room sizes, optimal room sizes and total seating capacity. To know the exact capacity of your table you need to take into account the size of each chair. The standard conference table height is 30 inches.

Conference Table Shapes
Conference tables come in many shapes which include boat shaped, racetrack, rectangular, round, square and can also be created by using training tables with ganging hardware to secure the tables. The Boat-Shaped table is shorter on the ends and wider in the middle to allow people in the meeting easier access to one another. Racetrack shaped tables are rounded on the ends and Rectangular or Square table tops afford you the opportunity to create modular work spaces by putting tables together side by site.
Conference Table Size and Capacity
Conference table sizes vary from a standard 6FT table to tables up to 24FT long and in general they are 33” - 48” wide. When using training table to create a meeting space these measurements can vary greatly but a common commonly these measure 5-6 FT long and 24” - 30” deep each. Round conference tables usually come in 30”, 36”, 42” and 48” in sizes.
To make the most of your space we recommend determining the exact dimensions of your room and allow a minimum of 36” to 48” of space between the wall and any edge of the tables. In most cases this allows enough space for someone to be sitting at a chair and to allow someone to pass by them as they walk around the table.
For chair distribution and seating capacity, it is important to determine the size of the chair that is going to be at the conference table and how many people you need. So if you need to fit as many people as possible at a conference table you can use smaller chairs, if you want a spacious boardroom you can go with larger chairs and a smaller seating capacity.
Most commercial conference tables are manufactured with high density particle board covered with laminate finishes of your choice. These high end table tops are extremely affordable and work to resist wear, keeping you conference table looking new for years to come. Laminate finishes commonly include Cherry, Walnut, Mahogany, White and Gray finishes. Some laminate top tables can also include metal bases which allow more leg room and an open design. These metal bases are extremely durable and will support the table top entirely.
High end solid wood conference tables are also common in corporate offices and boardrooms. There are countless finish options when purchasing solid wood which can include Cherry, Walnut, Mahogany, and Maple.
Accessories and Other Furnishings
When planning your boardroom keep in mind any other accessories or furnishings that you might need in the space. These furnishings can include whiteboards, storage cabinets, televisions, printers, credenzas, AV carts, podium or lectern, and space for food and beverages.
If you are planning to use electronics in your meetings, it is a good idea to have your conference table outfitted with electrical power outlets, network and data ports and USB ports. In most cases these can be installed seamlessly into any table without modification but it is important to talk with the dealer you are buying from so that they can make the process as smooth as possible. In many cases they may be able to make recommendations such as using cube base or circular bases to hide cables and aid with wire management.
