Mid wall cubicle desks provide a decent amount of separation while still being able to promote partnership within the office. I have spent more time in cubicle desks like this than any other wall height. They do provide enough separation between workers that you can focus completely on your own work while being low enough, your next door neighbor can run things by you at a normal voice level. There is a definite noise reduction with these mid wall heights over short walls, but the tradeoff is more separation between workers in these office cubicles. It all comes down to what the office needs, each style is perfect for one office while being the absolute worst choice for another.

I’ve spent about six months in an office cubicle like this. Being someone, who’s job duties mainly called for solo work, I didn’t mind it all that much.
