Working from home… Sounds like a dream, right? I never really considered it an option because I spent twenty years in construction management which meant being on the jobsite every day. Fifty, sixty, and even seventy hour work weeks in places all over the south. Large cities like Birmingham, and Atlanta or vacation destinations like Pensacola, Florida. All the way to places you don’t hear about until they spring up on you like Newnan, Georgia or Pascagoula, Mississippi. Then there are places that I’ve been that I still have nightmares about like Kemper County, Mississippi. All places that required daily attendance and long hours at a desk in your offic (Read More)

As I was researching my last blog, “A Guide to Finding the Right L-Shaped Desk for a Small Office” I kept coming back to the idea of my own L shaped desk in my home office. The more I studied and compiled data for the other blog, I also found myself setting aside inventory for ideas for corner desks and L shaped desks for a home office. It got to the point to where I had to decide to create a completely separate blog to highlight the idea of these pieces of office furniture for a home office. So, with that in mind we will look at Corner desks and L shaped desks for the home office. First, let’s look at the distinction between the two because they most (Read More)

One of the most common questions I get from people who know I work from home is how to furnish a home office on a budget, I get it a lot. Since I’ve been in this office furniture game for close to two and a half years now, I feel like I have gotten some insights into this question. I am by no means an interior designer, so please don’t look to me for any home remodeling advice unless you’re open to canary yellow walls throughout. I understand the desire to do a home office on a budget myself. I mean, I’m not the only person who notices that our hard earned dollars don’t go as far as they used to. It really is a different world than it (Read More)

A large office allows for a large desk. In most cases a large desk is a much needed tool to work with on a daily basis. U shaped desks are the largest desks in office furniture. However, the office furniture is not just limited in that respect. The U shaped desk opens the door for so much more! This configuration allows for the most storage of all desks in commercial office furniture. The versatility of the U shaped desk cannot be understated. Every day, we were inspected: desks cleaned, supplies neatly arranged, and personal items tucked away in our assigned cubbyhole. That memory reminds me why cubby storage organizers remain such a timeless way to keep life neat and organized. Though it’s been decades, that single word instantly brought her to mind.
